Kintamani lies on the rim of the Batur caldera, with sweeping views of the active Mount Batur volcano and Lake Batur below. The air is cool, and many visitors start before dawn to hike Mount Batur for sunrise above the clouds.
Later in the day, stop at a coffee plantation, soak in the Toya Devasya hot springs or visit Pura Ulun Danu Batur. Kintamani is often combined with Tegallalang, Tirta Empul or Besakih in a full-day tour.
