Nusa Penida is a larger, wilder island a short fast-boat ride from Sanur. Its highlights are spectacular: the T-rex shaped cliff of Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach, Angel’s Billabong and Diamond Beach, plus snorkelling with manta rays.
Roads on the island are steep and rough, so a local driver who knows Penida makes the day far easier and safer. Most day trips start early from Sanur harbour.
